My name is Omar García, and I am one of the students who survived the attack last year in which 43 of my friends and colleagues were disappeared by Mexican security forces. Together with their families, I have started a petition after confirming that the Mexican government lied to us about the whereabouts of my classmates.

They told us that they had been killed and burned at the Cocula dump. They told us that was the truth. But with the release of a new report from an independent group of experts commissioned by the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), we know that the government lied.
There is only one way for us to find out the true whereabouts of our sons, brothers, and friends: the Mexican government must accept the recommendations of the report and allow the group to remain in Mexico to complete the investigation.
We demand that President Peña Nieto receive us and publicly commit to accepting all of the recommendations of the group of experts and that they be allowed to remain indefinitely in Mexico to follow the investigation.
We need this now more than ever. We won’t stop until we find them. Will you?

No more lies about the 43 disappeared students from Ayotzinapa!
