Los Presos Políticos Mapuche desde la cárcel de
Nueva Imperial comunican a la sociedad civil nacional e internacional lo
siguiente:
El día viernes 31 de agosto del año en curso, en dependencias de gendarmería fue interrogado de forma ilegal Juan de Dios Puel, preso político mapuche, por tres personas que no se identificaron, ofreciendo durante el interrogatorio supuesta libertad y dinero para locomoción, a cambio de inculpar a personas desconocidas retratadas en fotografías, a lo cual el imputado no accedió.
Los interrogadores viendo la respuesta negativa de su proceder, cambiaron radicalmente su actitud, amenazando con "encarcelamiento de cinco años y un día, donde seria tratado como a un perro en una cárcel de Santiago", fuera del alcance de sus familiares e hijos. Ante el silencio del interrogado se tornaron violentos, se insulto y se amenazó con "aplicar electricidad".
Al consultarse a gendarmería de esta situación irregular se respondió que el fiscal de turno había realizado el interrogatorio, dejando en clara evidencia la violación de los derechos básicos que tiene todo imputado.

manifestamos nuestro mas enérgico repudio a los hechos denunciados
anteriormente por nuestros peñis (hermanos), específicamente
a las amenazas de torturas que violan directamente la carta fundamental
de los derechos humanos. Estos hechos se tornan cada vez más comunes
dejando en claro la política represiva del estado chileno hacia
el pueblo mapuche a través del poder judicial.

From the prison of Nueva Imperial, the Political Mapuche Prisoners
communicate to the national and international community the following:
Friday the 31 of August 2001, in the dependencies of the Gendarmeria,
our brother 'Juan de Dios Puel' was interrogated in an illegal way.
The political mapuche prisoner, who was interrogated by three men who did
not identify themselves, offering during the interrogation supposed
freedom and money for locomotion, in exchange for accusing people not known
portrayed in photographies, to which the imputed one did not go into.
After the interrogators notice the negative answer of their behavior,
they changed radically their attitude, threatening the mapuche prisoner
"to imprisonment him for five years and a day, where he should be treat
like a dog in a jail of Santiago ", outside the reach of its
relatives. When the prisoner still didn't answer their question
they became violent, insulting and threatened him "applying
electricity".
Consulting the Gendarmeria of this irregular situation it was responded
that the prosecutor in charge had made the interrogation, clearly demonstrates
the violation of the basic rights that has every defendant.
The Committee for the liberation of the political mapuche prisoners

reject the facts denounced by our brothers, specifically to the threats
of tortures that directly violate the constitution of the human rights.
These facts wich become more and more usually, also clearly demonstrates
the repressive policy of the Chilean state towards the mapuche community
through the
judicial power.

Vendredi 31 Août de l'année en cours, Juan de Dios Puel, prisonnier politique Mapuche, a été interrogé de manière illégale dans les locaux de la gendarmerie par trois personnes qui ne se sont pas identifiées, lui offrant durant l'interrogatoire une supposé mise en liberté et de l'argent pour le transport, en échange de l'inculpation de personnes inconnues figurant sur des photos. Ce dont l'accusé s'est refusé à faire.
Les interrogateurs voyant la réponse négative à leurs demandes, ont changé d'attitude, le menaçant "d'emprisonnement à 5 ans et un jour, où il serrait traité comme un chien dans une prison de Santiago", loin de sa famille et ses enfants. Devant son silence, ils sont devenus violents, l'insultant et le menaçant de lui "appliquer l'électricité".
En demandant à la gendarmerie sur cette situation irrégulière, celle-ci a répondu que le fiscal avait réalisé l'interrogatoire, laissant en évidence la violation des droits basiques de tout imputé.
Les Komités pour la libération des prisonniers politiques Mapuche des villes de la Serena, Santiago, Conception et Temuko manifestons notre répudiation la plus énergique des actes dénoncés précédemment par nos frères, particulièrement les menaces de torture qui violent directement la carte fondamentale des Droits de l'Homme. Ces faits deviennent courants, montrant clairement la politique répressive de l'état chilien contre le peuple Mapuche à travers le pouvoir judiciaire.
